Grandma Warner's Funeral 7/18/09

This was a very sad weekend. We buried Shawn's grandma Leona Warner on Saturday down in Spanish Fork. She died on Monday in her sleep at her nursing home in Layton. She was such an amazing woman and accomplished so many things. Her husband died 30 years ago and she has lived alone ever since. It was a nice feeling knowing that she is with Alan again. The funeral was uplifting. I loved hearing all the wonderful stories about her life. All us grand kids got to sing her a song. It was really nice. My mother in law has been such a rock through all this. She has been by her mother's side everyday for the past 9 months. I know that she is sad to see her mom go but knows that it is for the best. I want to let Shawn's family know how much I love them and how proud I am to be apart of their family! I could never ask for better in-laws! Ü

Moonlight Bike Ride...

Last night a bunch of us did the Moonlight Bike Ride out on Antelope Island. It started at 10:00pm and you road from the marina around the Island and back. It was a total of 22 miles. It was a lot of fun. There had to be around 1500-2000 people that did it. There were so many people dressed up in glow sticks and costumes, it was pretty neat! Next year we for sure will be decked out to ride. There were 8 of us that rode. I am so proud of Jamie and Kari riding along with us. I can't imagine being pregnant with twins and doing that. They are some strong women! I wish we could have taken some pictures but it was so dark you wouldn't have been able to see them.

No more ear infections!

So Warner went to the hospital on the 8Th of this month to get tubes in his ears. We are so happy that he will not have ear infections anymore!! He did really well. I wasn't expecting how he would be after the anesthesia. He screamed for about a half hour straight. We heard crying when we were in the waiting room and weren't sure if it was him or not, but you betcha it was. I'm sure they were glad when we left so it was quite again. The nurse said that it was totally normal. He just didn't understand why he felt so loopy. After his morning nap he was acting normal. He seems to feel so much better. He is walking a lot better too. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it but he hardly crawls anymore, he just walks all over! I am so glad we did it! Ü

When I got home from work last night all he wanted to do was play in the car!

4th of July

My family went up to Henry's Fork for the 4th of July. It's tradition that we go up there every year. My parents have been coming here before any of us kids were even born. We were bummed that Bryan and Teri's family couldn't come up with us. We really missed them! It rained on and off all weekend but it still was really fun. We had a small program that the grand kids love to get involved in. My parents had all the kids hold a flag and do a little parade around camp, it was so cute. Warner was funny he just kept swinging his flag all over the place, he kinda chewed on it a little bit too, sorry mom. I love how patriotic my family is. We had some small talks about our soldiers and our country that were really awesome! Ü My mom and Kari had some really fun crafts for the kids to do. We all made little shirts for the kids and flag pins for them to wear. Kari is so creative she brought packing peanuts and paper bags that the grand kids made George Washington wigs out of. They were so cute! We also had a big pot luck dinner that was to die for! I could eat like that every night. It was nice on the 4-wheeler rides cause there wasn't a lot of dust. Warner for sure fell in LOVE with the 4-wheeler this year. Once we put him on with his dad he was hooked. As you can see in some of the pictures he would start crying when you turned the wheeler off. He will be getting one of these as soon as he is old enough!

And then I talked to my friends Kari and Randy today and they found out that they are having 2 BOYS! Yippee, Hooray, Hallelujah! I am so excited for them too. Now Warner is going to have a lot of little buddies to play with next year! I took some cute pictures of their bellies last weekend but I left my camera in my trailer at camp.
