Stryker and Scouts 2nd birthday

Both our families met at the twins grave at sunset so that we could do something special for Stryker and Scout. Jamie and Dave bought these really cool lanterns that at dark we all lit them and sent them up in the sky like a hot air balloon. They were REALLY cool. It was peaceful and special when everyone was letting them go. Jamie had a pink one and Dave had a blue one and the rest of us had white ones. It was an awesome thing to see and feel. We love and miss you little ones!

Bee-You-tiful Pageant

Celee was in the South Weber baby pageant. I just thought it would be something fun for us to do with our kids. She did so awesome! She had her cute little personality as she walked down the runway. A bunch of our friends and family came to see her big day. I couldn't believe it when they called her name as the winner. We were all really excited!

So pretty the whole month of May Amy and Rob did Body Building competitions. It was so much fun to go and watch them compete. They did such awesome jobs. They worked so hard, especially the last six months before the competitions. Their bodies looked so amazing! I am so proud of them and for all their dedication. These are just a few of the TONS of picture's we have of all their comps. Can't wait for next spring to see them again.

Celee's Big Birthday Party!!

Jamie and I have been planning Celee's birthday party for quite a while. We picked out her outfit first and since it had a zebra print and hot pink on it we decided to use that as our theme for the whole party. I know we went a little far for a little girls birthday but it was so much fun to do. It probably won't be something we do every year but OMG it turned out so cute!!!! It was such a fun party and I want to thank everyone who came to see our sweet little Celee. We have had such a fun year watching her grow up. I love having another girl in the house, she makes it a lot of fun. She is our little princess and I can't imagine our life's with out her. We LOVE you Sissy! Ü

We did a really fun candy bar for the guests. We made cupcakes, marshmallow pops, and had sixlettes, animal cookies, pink malt balls, hug kisses and Good and Plenty licorice. It turned out really cute, and yummy!

We set up a little table with a poem that said "Empty your pockets of change, I know it might sound strange. But in this piggy bank the money will flow, and off to College Celee will go."

We made her a super cute banner with her name on it. We also made the tissue pom poms and pinwheels for the table's.

We had to distract her with a sucker while we painted her nails.

I couldn't sleep on Christmas Eve I was to excited. So by 6:30 I got up and got ready. Jamie and Dave came over and brought all their gifts too so they could watch the kids. We woke the kids up about eight and started opening gifts. It was a lot of fun with two kids and Warner really knows how to tear open the wrapping paper. He would get stuck on one gift and forget there were more to open. Celee was so excited when she opened her cabbage patch, Shawn couldn't get her out of the box fast enough for her. My parents stopped by for a little bit too to see the kids presents. It was a nice relaxing morning. Then it was off to Shawn's parents house. After that we left the nice quite house and went to my parents with ALL the grand kids. It is a blast to see all of them so excited and talking so fast telling you everything they got from Santa, I loved it!

My mom and all my sister's went down to Gardner Village for Witch-a-paloza, it was sooo much fun. We did the walk to remember this year in remembrance of Scout and Stryker. It was a really touching program and walk. I of course was sobbing when they said Angel Babies Scout and Stryker Andre and we got to all release our balloons. It was a very special day.

So we finally moved into our new house. It only took 5 months to build and it went way fast. It was soooo much fun living with Jamie and Dave, I was REALLY sad to leave. We moved in over Labor Day weekend and both our families were out of town so Shawn and I did most of it on our own, so I didn't get tons of pictures. A few of my girlfriends and I took the kids to the zoo. We all had so much fun. We only stayed about 2 hours but that was long enough in the 98 degree weather. I would suggest the tigers blood snow cone to cool you down, yummy! I only had Warner with me so it made it easier, except that he didn't want to stay in the stroller much. He wanted me to lift him so he could see the animals better, which wasn't the easiest with me still dealing with all the aftermath of my last surgery. Hopefully Shawn and Celee will come next time and that will be a lot simpler. Warner is at such a fun age to see how excited he gets about things. He is talking so much and I love to hear all the new words he's learning. We just have to be careful because he mimics everything we say. Ü

Memorial weekend at Lilly Lake

We went camping with all our friends to Lilly lake for the holiday weekend. It's weird that I didn't take any pictures of us all hanging out just of the kids. It was a fun weekend but I realized how much harder it is to camp with two little ones. Plus I still had my drain in from my last surgery and that didn't help with not being able to move around very easy. It was a fun trip other than one of the nights Shawn, I and the kids went down to the lodge to get more water and on our way back we hit a little pug dog. It was so sad, I think I was crying harder than the owners. I hated to see the dog in pain. Shawn had to slam on the brakes pretty hard and our 15 gallon water jug slid across the bed of the truck and smashed into the cab putting a big dent in it. We are just glad the kids were ok in the back seat, I'm sure they felt it hit.

This was after Shawn and I found out that they didn't find any more cancer in the rest of the lymph nodes they removed! We were so excited that we keep hugging each other. The doctor said no more surgery's and no radiation so I was on cloud nine.

I had one of my girlfriends take Celee's newborn pictures and they turned out so darling, I love them. Celee has been so much fun. Even though it can be stressful at times it is so great having two kids. Warner loves to hold her and even feed her. It will be lots of fun to see them play together when she's older, but I love both their stages right now so I want to slow down time. I am so excited for my life to get back to a "new" normal now with all the cancer stuff over with. My life is in such a great place right now!

Well they finished framing the house last week. They have also installed the plumbing, doors, windows, and tubs. Shawn and some guys from work are getting the heating and air put in now. The electrical should be finished this week and then we will have our four way inspection after that. I can't believe how fast everything is moving along now, I can't wait to move in. It should be done around the middle of July. So exciting, I love to just go there and walk around imagining what everything will look like! Ü

7 lbs 4 oz & 20 1/2 inches longWe had to be at the hospital at 5:30 am Wednesday morning for my scheduled C-Section at 7:30. I was so excited that I didn't even notice how early it was. We have been planning for this day for so long it felt like it was never going to get here. After getting all checked in and papers filled out my family showed up to wish us good luck. They just had me walk into the surgery room and had me get my epidural. It seemed so crazy to think she would be here in just a few minutes. I didn't even know they had started the C-Section cause my epidural was working pretty good. I asked Shawn what they were doing and he just looked at me confused and said "umm yeah they already started, it's not like they are playing tic tac toe or games on you", Jed the doctor and the others were all laughing. All I could feel was tugging and pressure so I thought they were still just getting things ready. It was a little bit of a harder time for me than the surgery was with Warner cause once her head was out they had to push on the top of my stomach to get her body out and man oh man did that HURT. I thought the doctor was going to break my ribs, I couldn't even breath. I sure wish the epidural would have worked all the way up to my chin. Shawn could tell I was in pain and just kept asking how I was doing. It was pretty quick after that and our cute little baby girl was here. I loved hearing her first little cry. She is our perfect little angel and we couldn't love her more. I was so worried that I wouldn't love her as much as I do Warner but I sure do. How can you love them so much right away. She looks a lot like me but with dark hair and dark eyes. (she also looks a lot like my mother in law and sister in law, it's crazy) I love how soft her skin and hair is. I could just kiss her all the time, and I do. Ü

Easter

Easter was a lot of fun this year living with Jamie and Dave. Warner was so excited when he walked up the stairs and saw his Easter stuff he was shaking his little bum as he ran over to his basket. It's so fun when they understand it a little bit more. He went straight for the cadbury eggs and was shoving the whole thing in his mouth. He was on a sugar high all day! Jamie and I decorated eggs for the kids since Warner doesn't really get that part yet, he just kept yelling "ball" at all the eggs so I knew he would just throw all of them if he touched them. We watched some of conference and then went over to my in-laws house for dinner. They got Warner a cute little bucket with shovels and more candy. It was weird not being with my parents too, but since Easter landed on conference weekend they were down there ushering. It was such a fun day! Ü

We took Warner to the park for an Easter egg hunt on Saturday with some of our friends. It lasted about 3 minutes and Warner only got 4 eggs. There were way to many kids there and holy crap was it cold. We decided that next year we will put on our own egg hunt together with just our friends so that the kids will have more time to find more eggs!

Temple

Last Thursday Jamie and Dave were sealed in the Bountiful Temple. It was a big surprise for all their family and friends. They had only told my older brother Bryan and it was his duty to get everyone there. What he told the people that were invited to the sealing was that they were going to do a family temple day. So when everyone arrived and walked into the endowment room they would see Jamie and Dave all in white standing there for the big surprise. It was so funny cause there were other people in the temple that wanted to be in the room at the same time cause they had all heard about the "secret" sealing. They said that it was so special and touching especially when they sealed the twins to their parents There wasn't a dry eye in the room even the people that didn't know them were crying. Everyone kept saying it was the best sealing they had ever been too, I wish we could have been there! I am so proud of Jamie and Dave and I'm so excited that they have been sealed to each other for all eternity! Ü After the Temple we all went to dinner to celebrate.

More bad news...

So we went to my follow up appointment last week and we found out they did get all the Melanoma out of my leg but that the cancer had spread to the Lymph Nodes. They only found a microscopic amount in each of the three nodes they took out but they are concerned that they found it in all three. Shawn and I were in such shock, we couldn't even think of what to say we were holding back the tears until the doctors left. We thought for sure that the cancer hadn't spread so we were very scared. We had my family come over again to give us both blessing to help us through this trying time. I will tell you that it has REALLY helped me not be so worried. I know that things will all be okay in the end but we just have to get through the next couple months and everything will be okay.

What I have to do next is deliver Celee with in the next 3 to 4 weeks. My OBGYN said to me today that we might be able to have my c-section on April 10Th as long as her lungs are good. Which will put me at 37 weeks. So we will monitor her and know more the closer we get to that date. Once I have delivered her they will do a Cat Scan and an MRI to make sure it hasn't spread through out the rest of my body. Then about a week later they will do another surgery to take out the rest of the Lymph Nodes in my groin to make sure they got all of it out of that area. I'm not looking forward to all of the surgery's but I am ready to have this all over with and just get to relax with my cute little family in our new house.

I just want to say thanks to all my family and friends for ALL their support. All of your visits, phone calls and even little text messages help out so much to know that people are thinking and praying for you. I would never be able to get through all of this with out every single person in my life, you all mean the world to me. I know that Shawn and I will live a long happy life together and grow old together! I love you honey and thanks for being my rock through all of this, your strength keeps me going each day! Ü

Bad news...

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while it has been a rough couple of weeks. A few days after moving in with Jamie and Dave I was a work and got a phone call from my dermatologist telling me they received my results back from my biopsy on a spot on my leg and it came back as Melanoma. I was so shocked I couldn't even speak. I never would have thought that at my age I would get skin cancer. I was so scared I called Shawn and my mom right away. My family was also in such shock. That night a few of them came over to give me a blessing, it helped out so much to calm our nerves. The next day they were able to get me into the Huntsman Cancer Center to meet with a Melanoma surgeon. Dr. Andtbacka told me that it is in the very early stages and that they would like to do surgery right away. So this past Monday they had me go get some radioactive injections around the area to see what limp nodes the cancer could have spread to. Then on Tuesday I went in for surgery. I was so scared to have to be put out that it may hurt the baby but we talked to so many doctors reassuring us that the baby would be totally fine. They had to take more area off of my calf and take out 3 limp nodes out of my groin to have biopsied to make sure it didn't spread. They sounded pretty confident that it hadn't but we will find out the results next Wednesday when I go in for my check up. I can't wait for this all to be over. It has been a really trying time right now with just moving and having a baby on the way now with this big news. I want to let my family and friends know that I love them and couldn't have gone through this without their support.

So we finally moved out of our house. We had a lot of our family members come over to help us on the big day. It was sad to leave our first home. We moved everything to a storage shed that's close to our lot up in South Weber where we are going to build our next house. I can't wait for them to dig the hole in the next couple weeks! I want to say a big THANKS to our family's. They helped out so much, and they are the best! We could have never done this without them. Ü

House for Sale...

So we put our house up for sale on the 7th of January and 6 days later we had three offers. We were so excited and shocked that we could find a buyer that fast! We ended up accepting the 2nd offer which was higher than our asking price (yippy) and should close on the home the 1st of March! Holy Crap I can't believe we sold our house. We have talked about it for so long I can't believe we finally did it. Shawn's sister Amy is our Agent and she did such an awesome job getting the buyers to our house. We had a lot of people who came and walked through it and we had to turn away 4 more families because of all the offers we were getting. So now is the not so fun part of packing everything up and moving into Jamie and Dave's house for a little while. We haven't fully decided if we are going to build or buy existing. We have looked at so many homes and lots it's draining, but I want to be picky because I plan on being in this next house for at least 10 years. We built this house back in 97 and we have loved living here. I am going to cry my eyes out when we leave because of all the fun memories we have had at this house. It will always be our 1st home! Ü

We went to the Timbermine for Bryan's big 40th birthday party. It was so nice to all go as a family with out the little kids. Tice was the one that wasn't able to make it because he was out of town for work. We sure missed him there. Bryan is such a great brother and we have so much fun together. He has such an infectious laugh and that seems to be all we do when we get together! After dinner we went up to their new house in Pleasant View. Holy crap it is so nice! Warner was feeding himself some blueberry oatmeal the other day and this is what I found when I came back into the kitchen. I guess he couldn't feed it to himself fast enough with the spoon so he wanted to dump it on his face. It's so nice now that he feeds himself but he sure gets it all over. Ü

Six months and counting

We had our 4-D ultrasound last week, it was so cool! To me she looks a lot like Warner. But I can see bits of all of us in her. She looks like she has Shawn's nose and my mouth. The ultrasound tech said looking at her features she looks more like Shawn and I am so excited about that because I think Warner looks just like him too and he is so stinking cute! In the first part of the video you can see her take a big yawn, it's so crazy! She moves and kicks so much I think she will be just as active as Warner, man that little boy never stops. I know I am going to have my hands full with two but I can't wait for her to get here! How can you already love them so much when you haven't even met? In the first picture you can see her cute profile and she has her knee up to her mouth.

So I just wanted to give myself a little pat on the back because after a long year and a half I finally got my SR. LOAN OFFICER, Yippee, Hooray!?! If you work at AFCU you know that it usually takes about 2 years after the training to get this authority, but they must be going faster on these than normal. I completed my Senior Loan Officer training back before I had Warner and just had to wait for my manager, VP's and the Sr. Vice President to approve my request. The reason it takes so long is because they have to do a personal audit and an audit on my loan portfolio. (not a job I would want to do) Any who I just wanted to remember this great accomplishment that I have achieved. I am so proud of myself! Ü

Christmas Day

Jamie and Dave came over Christmas morning to open presents, it was a lot of fun! I am so glad they came over. We made some muffins and then woke up Warner for a little breakfast before opening gifts. He didn't really know what to expect.

Of course the first gift he saw was a big red blow up car that has a lot of bouncy balls in it. After he saw that none of the other gifts mattered.

And these are all of the new baby's gifts... My family met over at Scout's and Stryker's grave before doing gifts. We all took some ornaments to put on the tree's and the kids all wrote and colored the twins a picture and card. It was to hard to hold back the tears especially when we all started singing Christmas songs. I sure wish these babies could be here with us, we sure do miss them.

It's tradition for us to eat dinner at my in-law's house. My Mom and Dad and Jamie and Dave came over also. We ate a yummy dinner and had way to many treats and snacks. Then we read a couple Christmas stories. After that we played an intense game of Bingo with lots of cool prizes. We make sure every year to have Larry play is accordion for us. Warner really liked it and was dancing around to the music. It was a super fun night being with our family! Ü

Bunko Christmas Dinner

We went to Yun's market for our Christmas dinner this year. The Korean food there is really yummy. After we ate we did a game with the gift exchange. Everyone got some really cute things. These girls are so fun to hang out with. I hope we keep playing Bunko for a really long time cause I would miss hanging out with these girls way to much! Can't wait to see what fun we will have all next year!! Ü

Jamie and I went to the twins grave to make sure all the decorations were still okay with all this snow we got lately. Jamie and Dave have a cute tree decorated and my mom and dad also brought a little tree to put there too. A lot of people have brought little ornaments and figurines for the kids it's so nice. I can't wait until they have there head stone. I'm sure they will wait for spring to put it up. I sure miss these babies and wish they were here with us. I know Jamie and Dave are having a hard time right now knowing they would have been with us this Christmas, but they are with us every day in spirit!

Child Family Christmas Party

Last night we had our Child family Christmas party, it was a lot of fun. My dad's side of the family is so big we always have to do it at the church. The little kids got to sing Christmas songs really loud so that Santa would hear and come and visit. All the kids got to sit on Santa's lap and get a candy cane and a present. Warner loved the car that he got, but he couldn't get enough of the candy canes. He kept stealing everyone else's too. (man this kid loves sugar) It was nice to see all my cousins. We have a blast at this party every year!

Warner loved his car but I'm sure he's on the look for more candy canes to steal.

Christmas Devotional

My mom and dad were lucky this year to win us some tickets to the Christmas Devotional. It was awesome to listen to the beautiful talks and hear the choir sing Christmas songs. This is my mom and dad's last Christmas serving as missionary's down at the conference center. They have been doing it for 7 years now, so I know they will be so sad to be released next year.

Festival of trees

IT'S A GIRL

So we went to the doctor last week and found out that our baby #2 is a girl!!! We are so excited. We were a little confused when my doctor was referring to the baby as a split tail. Surprising cause Shawn has a pretty dirty mind, and I my doctor does too. Any who we are so ecstatic that it's a girl. I can't wait to see her! I wanted to put the pic of the ultra sound on here but it wasn't the best picture of her. So I will next time. Now we need to start thinking of names! Ü

Warner in the snow

I took Warner outside to play in the snow the other day. For some reason he wasn't diggin it. He would cry if I put his hat on and if he fell in the snow. He didn't like his gloves to have snow on them. I'm sure he will like it the next time we have snow, hopefully there will be a lot more then there was here.

Grandpa Davis: 11/17/19 - 11/17/09

The day that the Kirkham twins were born was Shawn's grandpa's 90th birthday. But it just so happened that he died that same night. He had been in a rest home for a few months and going down hill so we knew this day was coming we just didn't think he would die on his birthday. He served in the army so he got a full military burial, it was pretty neat to see. They did the three gun salutes and played Taps. It was so special but made me cry even harder. Laurence was such a great man and grandpa. He is going to be missed very much.

Grandpa was a great farmer and took pride in working his land with his only son Larry. This was his tractor that one of his step grand kids rebuilt. He had it outside the church for everyone to see. He also drove it behind the hearse all the way to the graveside. It was really neat.

Ryker and Reed Kirkham 11/21/09

Kari and Randy had their twins on November 21st. She was only 35 weeks along so they were a little early. Ryker Scout Kirkham was born 1st and weighed 3lbs 14oz. Reed Stryker Kirkham was born 2nd at 4lbs 2oz. Ryker did ok but he couldn't keep his temp up due to him being so small so they had to keep him in the nursery in an incubator for a while. Reed wasn't doing as well, he had some air by his heart so he's in NICU so they can watch him more closely. I can't stand to see them hooked up to so many things. It makes me cry! I can't even imagine how hard this is on Kari and Randy. We only got to see them at certain times so I didn't get very many pics at the hospital.

They got to take Ryker home last night because he gained some weight and was able to keep his temp up. Hopefully they will get to bring Reed home soon. He now has an infection in his lower intestines that they are concerned about but I know that he will be healthy soon and get to be with his twin brother and family at home.

Shawn David Jackson

So this Halloween was the 10 year anniversary for our friend Shawn Jackson's death. I can't believe that it has already been 10 years that he has been gone. We sure do miss him. Jamie and I were able to sneak away for a bit to go up and visit his grave and bring him a little pumpkin on Halloween. My husband Shawn and Shawn Jackson were best friends since they were about 2 years old. They lived a few houses down from each other and they were inseparable all through Elm, Jr. High & High School. Jamie and Shawn Jackson dated during our Jr year in High School too. So we all had been close for a very long time. We just want Shawn to know how much we love and miss him!

So I guess it's time to let everyone know that we are expecting baby #2! We are so EXCITED! I am 14 weeks along and my due date is April 29th. We get to find out in a couple of weeks what the sex will be. Shawn has his heart on a little girl but I know we would be excited for either. Heck we already know how to do all the boy stuff! It came to a big surprise to us but we are really excited! Any who I am glad to finally let everyone know! Ü

Black Island Farms

Jamie and I took Warner to Black Island Farms yesterday. My friend Kari took her preschool there for a field trip so we decided to tag along. It was a lot of fun! We didn't get to do all the fun things because Warner is to small but we did go on the tractor ride and pick a pumpkin. I think Warner's favorite part was riding on the cow train because he cried when it was finished. The funny part on the ride was that it was only Warner and I on it. I guess we had our own little mother and son time. I am so glad that Kari invited us to go. I will for sure take Warner there next year when he's older and will enjoy it more! Ü

Halloween Party

Last Saturday night we had a few Halloween parties that we went to, they were a lot of fun! A few of my friends meet at my house before to play a little guitar hero and get pumped for the party's. First we went to Rusti's party at the Lions club. That we fun because there were a lot of my work friends that I got to hang out with! Next we went to another friends party. These are the friends that we go boating with every year. I forgot to take my camera into this party, dang it. We didn't end up making it to Tyson's party that night, we were bummed. We didn't get home till 2:00. It was a really fun night seeing all the people and their funny costumes! Ü

We had Kari and Randy's baby shower up at Diva's Cupcakes. It turned out so cute, and was such a nice day we had brunch outside in the atrium. They got so much stuff. These two little boys are going to be so spoiled! Ü

All the friends went over to Kari and Randy's and decorated pumpkins with the kids. It was such a blast. We had the little ones dress up in their Halloween costumes. Holy cow they all looked cute! We made some yummy soups, salads, and off course lots of treats! The kids did so well at decorating the pumpkins. Warner didn't really know what was going on but he sure had fun running around and chewing on all the paints. This is something we plan on doing every year! Ü

Utah State Fair

Me, my sister's and my mom all went down to the State Fair yesterday. Brandy only had two of her kids and I had Warner so we were able to look at everything pretty quick. It was a lot of fun to see Warner with all the animals. I think the goats were his favorite, but Jamie and Bailey loved the Sugar Gliders. Of course you can't go to the fair without eating some of their yummy food and snow cones. Ü

We went down south for Labor Day weekend so the boys could hunt. It was so nice because it was the first time this summer that all of the friends were able to go! It was very relaxing. I guess I have turned into one of those mom's that only take pictures of their kids. I will try to take more of other things. Ü
